Vegetarian diet benefits

The Vegetarian diet has many benefits to health of our body. And the new news are it has benefits to our brain functions.  Are vegetarians smarter than others? Conversely the more intelligent they are opting more for a vegetarian diet? The results of a study to answer this question.

The benefits of vegetarianism

Traditionally, the vegetarian diet was considered beneficial to health, and on many levels. It reduces the risk of high cholesterol, high blood pressure, developing obesity, etc. Some studies even highlight the benefits on brain functions.
Today, without advocating a vegetarian diet, the recommendations are in line with the incentive to consume more plant products at the expense of animal products. Thus, the campaigns of the Ministry of Health encourage fruit and vegetable consumption and the reduction of red meat and other products rich in animal fats.

The protective behavior of individuals at high IQ

Meanwhile, children and adolescents at high IQ, with results above average in intelligence tests, have lower cardiovascular risk, are less often smokers, if any stop smoking easily and generally adopt more easily protective behaviors.

Does using the IQ food choices?

We can then actually ask the question of whether a higher IQ allows for the most food choices.
It seems that the answer is yes at the end of this study involving more than 17,000 people, who have passed an IQ test at the age of 10 years and were followed until the age of 30 years. After collecting data on their diet, it appears that a high IQ is associated with an increased likelihood of becoming a vegetarian. Conversely, vegetarians have a higher than average IQ.

Compared to non-vegetarians, vegetarians more often work in the private sector, charities, work in jobs with high qualifications are among the non-manual occupations. And finally, more often women.
